I was born in Chicago, IL in 1974. My father passed on when I was eight years old. My mother raised me in the Christian Lutheran church where I was very active until I was about twenty-four years old. I left the Christian church for a variety of reason, some deep and soulful, others more modern. I began looking into the roots of my heritage very deeply and found that I held a certain kinship for the Druid path. I began to study. A lot. I realized that throughout my life, from the earliest memories I have, my path had always followed a more druid way. My beliefs before I knew anything of the pagan path always strayed that way even though I was raised Christian, attended Christian churches and lead Christian youth on trips. For the first time in my life I felt comfortable with my beliefs.

I left the church permanently. For those who have done this, you understand the persecution, accusation, attempts of others to “save you”, etc that come about when you leave. Mine was none too different than other accounts I have heard save for one. My mother, a very devoted Christian and also the person I went to church with each Sunday took the news of my “coming out of the broom closet” completely differently than I thought. She had the normal amount of denial but she also asked questions, desired to understand why and never raised her voice or told me I was “wrong”. I was completely blown away. Instead of telling me I was wrong, she just told me what she believed and why. I am constantly amazed by people.

I hope you enjoy my writing here on DFWPagan and look forward to sharing my thoughts with you.

I’ve been practicing the craft for 16 years, and have dabbled in all different types of paganism. I have a very eclectic background, but am most comfortable in Wicca. My friends call me a ‘Kitchen Witch’,  since I’ve neither a hearth or hedge (that’s a joke, I live in an apartment), and that’s where I do a lot of my work.

I’ve lived in the DFW area for about 10 years, and before that I mainly resided up north. I have my Bachelors of Fine Arts, and do a lot of DIY ‘Craft’ projects (besoms, candles, incense, oils, soap, etc) that I hope to share with you here.

I think it’s always important to further learning, and believe that every day is a chance to grow and better oneself.

I am a long residing female of the DFW area. Still young in age but old in spirit. I am very spritely and am in love with life and her ever turning tides.

I’m still a very new practitioner, but nothing has ever felt so right in my life. I grew up in many different denominations, each of which always felt forced. Nothing ever called to me. A little over a year ago, I started down my path which has so far been a fun and eye opening journey.

My calling is rune casting, smoke divination, and I am a kitchen witch. I love growing my own herbs for nutritional  and magical purposes. My wish for my postings is to be able to not only learn more myself but to reach out to those that are new as well.
